Our hike starts at 19h30 from Drumgoff recreation car park, Co.Wicklow . From there, we will head to the hills. Part of the trail is on wooden boards through a magical woodland area where Fairies live. We then follow a forestry trails up to Kelly’s Lough. Kelly’s Lough is a Corrie lake in geological term, a lake which was carved by a glacier during the last ice ages and moraines around its perimeters.

From Kelly’s Lough, the hike goes up a cliff section above the lake. The walk to Lugnaquilla from that section is 1h30 on a gentle slope to the top.

Coming back, we go down the trail above Kelly’s Lough to Carrawaystick, the Fairy trail down to Drumgoff car park.

As a qualified mountain leader, I’ll explain the origin of the peat in Ireland (blanket bogs and raised bog) as well as about the flora and fauna in the Wicklow mountain and the impact of the ice age(s) on the countryside.

Some hiking experience and level of fitness are essential however, you don’t need to be an expert. For more information please, don’t hesitate to contact us at:
