Guided Sunset and Moonlight walk to Lugnaquilla May 14th/15th

Our guided Moonlight hike starts and finishes at Drumgoff recreation car park near Glenmalure. (time to be confirmed)

From there, we will head to the Hills and Mountains.

Part of the hike is on wooden boards through a magical woodland area where the fairies live.

We then take a forestry trail to Kelly’s Lough. Kelly’s Lough is a corrie lake a lake which was carve by a glacier during the last ice age with moraines around the perimeter.

From Kelly’s Lough, our guided Moonlight walk will bring us to Lugnaquilla following a path above Kelly’s Lough.                                                 Sunset on Lugnaquilla  which will includes a well deserved break. After Sunset, we will head back off to Drumgoff recreation car park through Carrawaystick.

As a qualified mountain leader and a course provider, I’ll explain the origin of the peat in Ireland, as well as about the flora and the fauna in the Wicklow mountains.

Some hiking experience and level of fitness are essential however, you don’t need to be an expert.

For the evening you will need to bring ; a small rucksack, hiking boots (no runners) , a water jacket and waterproof hiking pants, a head torch, food and drinks. Some equipment can be provided at no additional cost.
