KERRY. The mountains of Kerry located in the South-West of the country are probably one of the most dramatic mountains in Ireland. Carrauntoohil is the highest mountain on the island of Ireland at 1040m.
KERRY AND CARRAUNTOOHIL or the top of Ireland. (One night over sleeping in pods AT Cronin’s yard)
The walk start from Cronin’s yard and walk Hags Glen go past Eagle’s Nest to summit at 959m and up to the summit of Carrauntoohil at 1040m. From then, we take a 150 degrees on the compass and make our way down to Cronin’s yard and after a shower, we can enjoy a drink at the local Pub and meet some of the local mountaineers and international one as well. A nice walk and the scenery is absolutely amazing.
Duration = around 6 hours.
Grade = Hard to challenging.
Terrain = Big tracks and smaller trails.
